When I decided to try and focus on more natural skincare products a little while ago, I was a little perturbed by the cost of everything. So when I come across a brand that’s at the lower end, price-wise, I feel compelled to give it a go. Normally, there’s a compromise to be made somewhere – usually with the ingredients. But as long as they’ve missed out the worst offenders, I’m happy to give them a try.
So, here we have a very nice facial serum from Pure, which is an M&S range. There’s a great philosophy behind the brand – they’re BUAV approved, use selected British-grown ingredients, and are involved in The Bee Friendly Project.
This is a very light serum. It has a gel-like texture and is absorbed very quickly, with no trace of stickiness. It gives my skin a velvety-soft feel, which is surprising considering it doesn’t contain any silicone. There’s one downside – I’m not keen on the smell, not keen at all.
The serum contains, among other things, Starflower seed oil and Blackcurrant seed oil, which are rich in gamma linolenic acid, and hyaluronic acid, which is great for keeping the skin hydrated.
I use this in the mornings, underneath my moisturiser (I prefer to use an oil in the evenings) and together they leave my skin feeling beautifully soft and hydrated throughout the day.
